New to training?
If you are starting from the very beginning, here are some tips to get you on your way! To start with, you have to be qualified in the treatment for at least 1 year before you can start training in it. So make sure to get this under your belt before you apply for accreditation.
You will then need to get your teaching qualification. This will need to be level 3 for most accreditors or insurers to accept it. Award in Education and Training (AET) is the course that we recommend to get your training qualification. You can do this as an online course, or as a face-to-face course and you will have to complete a number of assignments, including a microteach session. This is where you will teach a class via zoom or face-to-face for 15 minutes so that they can assess your teaching skills. Once you have passed this, you will need to add your teaching qualification to your insurance before you start training.
Next, you will need to get yourself and the course you wish to teach accredited with an accrediting body. Someone like Professional Beauty, ABT or The Beauty Guild are good reliable accreditors, but it is important that you do your research to choose one that suits you best. They will then ask you to send over your manual, to which you are welcome to personalise one of ours if you don’t have one already, and all of your certificates. Once they come back you are good to go!
All that’s left is to start taking bookings. You could do this manually, by having your students contact you directly. Or you could look into various websites that take bookings online, so that your students can book online.
