Flat lashes are designed with a rhomboid shaped base that helps them bond more effectively to the natural lash, meaning they can have a longer retention than traditional eyelash extensions. Flat lashes are used for Classic eyelash treatments. Flat lashes are also great for building significant volume without irritating the eyes. This is because flat lash extensions have a different weight distribution to classic lashes, for example a 0.15 thickness flat lash extension feels like a 0.7 thickness in a classic extension. This means you can use heavier and thicker lashes without causing any damage to the natural lash when working with flat lashes. Due to their rhomboid shape, flat lashes are also easier to pick up with tweezers which can make application more time efficient.
Flat lashes have an oval/rhomboid base, whereas classic lash extensions have a round base. The shape of Flat lash extensions mean they can wrap around the natural lash easily. They also are designed with a different weight distribution which means Flat lashes feel much lighter than classic lashes, so you can apply thicker and longer lashes without damaging or weighing down the natural eyelash. We’re seeing more clients ask for Flat lash extensions as they love the look! A popular misconception is that Flat lashes are not curly which is incorrect, Pinkfishes Flat lashes are available in both C & D curl. The Flat shape is also easier to pick up and has a wider surface area at the base which can help to make application more efficient, saving you time on your sets. However, Flat lashes can only be applied to the top or bottom of the natural lash, unlike classics which can also be applied to the side of the lashes.
Their rhomboid base allows them to wrap around the natural lashes easily creating a more secure bond, meaning Flat lashes can last longer and have better retention. As they wrap around the natural lash it also creates a seamless blend making them look more like your own lashes rather than obvious extensions. The lighter weight distribution of Flat lashes makes them perfect for creating thicker, more voluminous and longer sets in comparison to standard Classic/Individual lashes, without causing damage to your clients' natural lashes.
We had been working in the lash industry for years before deciding to set up pinkfishes.com to help beauty professionals like ourselves create perfect lash extension sets for their clients. After struggling to find extensions we loved we decided to use PBT silk to ensure our lashes are the fluffiest, softest, and most realistic lash extensions on the market, as well as reduce the risk of irritation and being cruelty free. Since launching we continuously develop our product range offering more variations of lash extensions, especially the latest trends. Flat lashes are an upgrade on our popular Classic/Individual lashes. Their shape has been specially designed to improve the product for lash technician use. Our Flat lashes are available in our best-selling curls C & D in thicknesses 0.15 & 0.20.
