Standard vs. Cashmere Lashes: What’s the Difference?
Two of the most popular options in the lash industry are standard lashes and cashmere lashes for both Classic and Russian sets. While they may look similar at first glance, there are key differences that affect comfort, appearance, and overall wear. If you’ve ever wondered which option is best for you or your clients, this guide breaks it down.

What Are Standard Lashes?
Standard lashes are the traditional eyelash extensions that have been used in the industry for years. They are typically made from synthetic fibres and have a smooth, glossy finish.
Key characteristics of standard lashes:
Slightly shinier appearance.
Firm structure.
Ideal for Classic lash sets and dramatic Russian looks.
Standard lashes are reliable, affordable, and perfect for clients who love a bold, defined lash line. Because they are slightly firmer, they can create a striking, polished finish — especially for classic or glam Russian styles.
What Are Cashmere Lashes?
Cashmere lashes are also synthetic but are designed to mimic the softness and lightness of natural fibres. They have a more tapered, fluffy appearance and are often favoured for comfort and a natural look. They are popular when creating Russian sets. Pinkfishes stock beautiful cashmere lashes (in 0.03 and 0.05 thickness) that are very popular with lash technicians who like to create fluffy volume sets.
Key characteristics of cashmere lashes:
Tapered, thinner tips.
Usually have a matte or semi-matte finish.
Ultra-lightweight feel.
Soft and flexible texture.
Pinkfishes
Cashmere Lashes have a matte appearance as opposed to our standard lash trays that have more of a glossy/silky finish to them.
These lashes are extremely lightweight and mimic the softness and texture of natural lashes, making them also extremely comfortable for clients as they are softer to the touch and less heavy on the eyes.
Cashmere Lashes also have around 40% higher density than standard lash trays meaning there are more lashes compacted onto a single lash strip - around 500 pcs per strip, making them highly cost-effective.
Our
Cashmere Lashes are crafted from high quality, soft PBT fibres and create beautiful, fluffy fans. Perfect for Russian volume extensions and Angel lash sets.
